Cyberpunk 2077 will be 'bigger, revolutionary'- CD Projekt
CD Projekt, the game developer behind The Witcher series, promised that its upcoming action role playing game "Cyberpunk 2077" will be "even better, even bigger, even more revolutionary" than what was first envisioned by their team.
In a report by Dual Shockers, president Adam Kiciński and studio head Adam Badowski talked about "Cyberpunk 2077" during CD Projekt's financial result conference, saying that the most recent game they released, "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt," has become very successful and it set the bar very high for "Cyberpunk 2077" to achieve the same feat. Badowski even said that they are still "a long ways away from the premiere" for their studio to create a more sophisticated gameplay for "Cyberpunk 2077" that is why more work should be done to come up with a "truly outstanding game."
Kiciński also hinted on another major game they will release while talking about the studio's long term plans between 2017 and 2021, along with other projects which the team can't still disclose at the moment.
Gamespot reported Kiciński in an interview with a Polish TV station that 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' has proven to be a big commercial success, being able to sell 6 million copies of the game against $81 million budget.This is the reason why Kiciński and his team has to work harder for "Cyberpunk 2077" to be at par with "The Witcher," if not to surpass its record sales.
CD Projekt Red management considered the game to be a "good investment," although "The Witcher 3" did not become a chart-topper worldwide for one full year.
"Sure, many people consider 'The Witcher 3' to be the best game in the world but this is not a game that broke any sales record," Kiciński further explained.
Cyberpunk 2077 will transport the players into a dystopian future in the year 2077, in which the remaining members of the human race have to live with advanced technologies that both became humanity's hope and cause of destruction. At the meantime, the game is still under development stages and there is no confirmed release date yet.
