'Criminal Minds' season 12 spoilers news: Thomas Gibson to take legal action after dismissal from series; former co-star Shemar Moore speaks out

The search for the next Behavioral Analysis Unit chief is on after actor Thomas Gibson has been officially fired from "Criminal Minds."
Gibson, who has been an original cast member since 2005, will no longer be in the show after having an on-set physical altercation with one of the writers. This is reportedly the second incident where Gibson was involved in a fight while filming for the CBS crime drama. He allegedly pushed an assistant director years ago and was required to attend anger management classes.
In a press statement, ABC Studios and CBS Television Studios confirmed the veteran actor's dismissal last week. The statement reads: "Thomas Gibson has been dismissed from Criminal Minds. Creative details for how the character's exit will be addressed in the show will be announced at a later date."
Gibson has yet to release a statement but he recently hired lawyers to possibly file a lawsuit against the two studios, according to Deadline.
Meanwhile, after Gibson was fired from the program, "Criminal Minds" alum Shemar Moore posted a short clip via Instagram — seemingly referring to his former co-star's behavior. The 46-year-old actor already deleted the video but a fan managed to re-upload it on Twitter.
"Lot of birdies chirping out there; the gossip is real," Moore said. "I'll just say this: I believe in karma. Good things happen to good people. Honest people. Hard-working people. Humble people. People who believe in basic goodness... Treat people how you expect them to treat you. Celebrate yourself and celebrate your blessings—as you should—but just know that you're not better than anybody."
Reports say that there is bad blood between Gibson and the other cast members, specifically Moore. Two years ago, Gibson's ex-manager Craig Dorfman filed a complaint against him due to unpaid commissions. Dorfman noted that Moore and Gibson had verbal altercations and he even "talked Gibson out of physically attacking Moore."
It remains to be seen if "Criminal Minds" will introduce a new character to replace Gibson's.
