'Criminal Minds' season 12 episode 5 spoilers: Team investigates if bullying is linked to murder of 2 families

The BAU team looks into a bullying incident which may be linked to a family's murder in the upcoming episode of the CBS procedural drama "Criminal Minds" season 12.
Titled "The Anti-Terrorism Squad," next week's episode explores a case involving bullying. According to the official synopsis for episode 5, the BAU team investigates if bullying may be the connection between two high school students who are the only survivors after both of their respective families are murdered. Although further details about the plot were not revealed, Reid's (Matthew Gray Gubler) story arc might continue after his reunion with his mother, Diana.
In this week's episode titled "Keeper," Reid received upsetting news when he found out that his mother, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia last season, was not doing well. At some point in the episode, Reid received a call from the Las Vegas police who informed him that his mother was found wandering around a casino. Seeing their colleague's distress, Rossi (Joe Mantegna) and JJ (A.J. Cook) encourage Reid to leave the case they were working on to be with his Diana.
This recent development is possibly setting up the much-awaited return of Jane Lunch as Reid's mother in this season's episode 11. It was previously reported that Lynch will reprise her role for the first time since her last appearance on the show eight years ago. Speaking with TV Guide, showrunner Erica Messer confirmed that Lynch's arrival will be part of a huge story that will center on Reid.
"[Her return] will be good," Messer hinted. "That's why everybody's excited. It was more important than ever to have Jane come guest-star because it will be a big story."
