The upcoming episode of "Criminal Minds" season 12, which has been postponed to next week due to the World Series, will be the final one to feature Thomas Gibson as Aaron Hotchner.

As reported months ago, the production was deep into the third and fourth episode when the actor was fired after an altercation with one of the producers of the show.

According to TVLine, "Criminal Minds" season 12 episode 5 titled "The Anti-Terrorism Squad" will mark Gibson's official exit, which will be ushered when his character's special assignment requires extended time and attention.

Gibson was originally going to be no more than suspended due to the on-set trouble (he was accused of kicking the crew member) but was eventually terminated.

The third episode of "Criminal Minds" season 12 titled "Taboo" established Hotch's exit and at the same set up the full-time return of Paget Brewster as Emily Prentiss—she was supposed to be brought in for multiple episodes only—who has been filling in for Hotch ever since.
