Criminal Minds Season 10 Spoilers, Cast and Plot News: Callahan Replaces Blake
Criminal Minds season 10 is finally upon us, and with it comes a renewed sense of urgency to catch the bad guys before they can commit more murder and mayhem. There's no getting away from the profilers of the BAU in the series, and in season 10 we are going to see new ones hit the ground running.
The new profiler in the Behavioral Analysis Unit, is Agent Kate Callahan played by Jennifer Love Hewitt. Hewitt is making a comeback to TV after a long break. She last appeared in The Client List and was previously the lead in Ghost Whisperer. In Criminal Minds, Callahan replaces Blake who quit the BAU in season 9.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Hewitt spoke more about her character. Hewitt explains how Callahan "comes with a specific background and talents" and that "she actually crossed paths with the BAU team in the past".
She bonds with the other profilers from day one, and establishes a good working relationship with them. Especially with Ross played by Joe Mantegna and Aaron Hotchner (Thomas Gibson). In the Entertainment Weekly interview Hewitt interestingly states that, "Callahan is Barney Fife to Hotch's Andy in the show and her character is excited to work with him".
Season 10 of Criminal Minds is also going to include reappearances of former wives and villains. The International Business Times has a list of probable characters in season 10, and it starts with the unsub named The Replicator. According to the IBU, The Replicator is the unsub that the BAU tracks all season long.
Finally Entertainment Weekly states that Criminal Minds will include a tribute to Meshach Taylor, a close friend of actor Joe Mantegna who died recently. Taylor made an appearance in season eight and nine and played the part of Harrison Scott. Mantegna will direct the episode and bring the storyline of Harrison Scott to a close.
