'Criminal Minds' Halloween Episode Recap, Spoilers: Parker Appears A Year After Kidnapping
"Criminal Minds" Season 10 had a Halloween-themed show this week on CBS.
Episode 9 titled "Boxed In" starts with the sudden reappearance of Joshua Parker (played by Anson Bagley), who was kidnapped exactly 364 days ago. He is malnourished and his muscles have atrophied due to lack of movement. But he manages to survive albeit with severe psychological trauma. The BAU team learns that he had been held underground in a wooden box.
The profilers then realize that the suspect Rodney Tanner (Christopher May), who confessed to the killing of the first victim Tommy, actually had nothing to do with the abductions or killing. Soon after this, Hunter Olson (Braden Fitzgerald) is kidnapped. The unsub then puts him inside a box.
The abduction leads the profilers to believe that Tommy and Hunter were abducted because they lacked discipline. The unsub punishes them by putting them inside a closed box.
Finally the team manages to find Hunter in the house of John David Bidwell ( J. Michael Trautmann). They are led to him by his mother, who killed John's father Sam and buried him where Hunter is currently being held.
John's mother also reveals that Sam put John into the box as a child, when he egged people's houses during Halloween, and she had to kill Sam to get John out.
In the next episode titled "If the Shoe Fits" the profilers of the BAU will have to figure out who is behind the murders of several young men in Utah. The case will baffle them because there is no apparent pattern that links the victims other than the particular way in which they are murdered.
