'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' Season 2 spoilers news: Lead actor hints more stories to tell, showrunner confirms plot to shed light on other characters, new timeslot confirmed

Romantic musical comedy-drama "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" ended its freshman run last month, and viewers are already craving for answers in terms of where Rebecca and Josh will take their relationship.
The season 1 finale featured Rebecca as she finally mustered up the courage to confess her true feelings for Josh, and he also felt the same for her. However, their romantic moment was undercut when it was revealed that Rebecca completely uprooted her life to chase Josh, leaving him baffled and feeling awkward. Things will definitely get more complicated as the show progresses, which means that there will be a lot more stories to tell in the upcoming season.
Actor Vincent Rodriguez III, who portrays the character of Josh Chan, mentioned during a recent media event that the first season was just the beginning of more drama to unfold. "There's talk that season 1 was actually a prologue to the story," said Rodriguez. "At the season finale of season 1, it was like, 'Now the story's going to actually start.' So that's what's exciting about season 2: all that stuff that happened in season 1, that was just the precursor. Now what's going to happen? From what I've heard, it's pretty exciting."
As for showrunner Aline Brosh McKenna's plans for next season, not only Rebecca's romantic life will be focused on, but also the colorful characters surrounding her. "I would say the main thing for us is that we have a million auxiliary characters now that we have built up over the course of the season that we would love to return to," McKenna told Entertainment Weekly. "In planning out the second season, it's really just a question of real estate and whether we're going to be able to fit in all these people that we love."
As of this writing, the network has yet to announce an official release date for "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2. However, The CW already released its Fall 2016 schedule and the comedy-musical series has been confirmed to air Fridays at 9 p.m. EST.
