'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' season 2 release date, spoilers news: 'Outsourced' actor Parvesh Cheena joins cast, plot to explore complications after Rebecca's confession to Josh

Romantic musical comedy series "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" will soon hit the small screen for its second season, and a new character has been confirmed to join the cast.
NBC's "Outsourced" actor Parvesh Cheena recently landed a recurring role on the series as a character named Sunil. According to Deadline, Sunil is a single dad who meets and befriends Paula (Donna Lynne Champlin). As they get to know each other, they both realize that they share common struggles and dreams.
Season 1 left off with Rebecca finally admitting to Josh that she left her entire life in New York and traveled across the country just for a boy. After letting Josh know about her real intentions, it remains to be seen how he will react to Rebecca's confession. According to showrunner Aline Brosh McKenna, things will become more complicated for everyone next season.
"There's going to be ramifications for everybody," she told Entertainment Weekly. "She's going to try and get underneath whether Josh really does feel the same way about her. In the last episode, you could feel him being drawn towards her but now that he knows this uncomfortable fact about her, what happens between them?" McKenna described Rebecca's personality as a "sort of a pebble in a pond" because every decision she makes seem to affect everyone who comes in contact with her.
The series stars Rachel Bloom portraying the role of Rebecca Bunch, a lawyer who decides to leave give up her career and home in New York just to follow and win back an old flame living in the suburbs of West Covina, California. Each episode features two songs and according to Variety, a whole music department creates the pieces.
Following nominations for four categories at the 68th Primetime Emmy Awards, "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" lead star/creator/writer Bloom also got nominated for individual achievement in comedy at the Television Critics Association Awards, while the show was nominated for outstanding new program and outstanding achievement in comedy.
The CW's "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2 is set to premiere on Oct. 21.
