'Crazy Ex-Girlfriend' season 2 air date, spoilers, & news: New guy to break up Josh and Rebecca?
"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2 will premiere in a little over a week, and it looks like a new guy will come in to cause trouble between Rebecca and Josh. Will Rebecca choose this new guy over Josh whom she chased across the country?
Fans of the musical comedy series know the odds Rebecca (Rachel Bloom) tried to beat just to get to where Josh is. She left a successful life in New York to move to West Covina, California to go after Josh (Vincent Rodriguez III), her high school crush.
However, reports say a new guy named Nathaniel (Scott Michael Foster) will somehow end up in West Covina and make things complicated for Rebecca. Apparently, Nathaniel is a lawyer just like Rebecca, who comes from a prominent family in another part of California. So he and Rebecca have something in common, although it
remains to be seen how he ended up in West Covina.
Nathaniel will be a recurring character for season 2, although it's possible for the character to become a series regular in case "Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" is renewed for a third season. That will mean his character might have a big part in developing the storyline not only for the incoming season but also for [the potential] season 3.
In the season1 finale, Josh and Rebecca finally hooked up after the former broke up with Valencia (Gabrielle Ruiz). However, in an interview she did in August, Bloom said her character's happiness will come with or without Josh. Some fans took that to mean that romance might not bloom between Josh and Rebecca even after hooking up. That said, it will not be surprising if Rebecca found a new love interest in Nathaniel.
Meanwhile, the premiere episode's title for season 2, "Where Is Josh's Friend," might be referring to Greg (Santino Fontana), who decided to bolt out of West Covina in last season's finale. Did his abrupt departure have something to do with his coming to terms with his feelings for Rebecca a little too late?
Will he come back to profess his love for Rebecca? Is Nathaniel going to cause problems for Josh and Rebecca?
"Crazy Ex-Girlfriend" season 2 will probably answer those questions when it premieres on Oct. 21 on The CW. In the meantime, keep coming back for more news and updates about the series' upcoming installment.
