'Contra' Mobile Game update: Konami and Tencent collaborated to bring the game to a new audience

Contra fans from the '80's, '90s and 2000s are definitely excited to hear the news that the legendary game from decades ago is coming back. According to reports, Bill Rizer and Lance Bean, the two battling commandos, will go on another tour of duty and gamers can start playing them anytime soon.
Originally announced late last year by its developer and publisher, Konami, "Contra" will be created for mobile platforms. There is still no report if the new version of the game will make it to consoles, but old-timers are certainly excited, to say the least.
The game is made possible by the collaboration between Konami and another game publisher, Tencent Games. It will be available for iOS and Android users once it is rolled out in the market.
Fans may notice something different during the game since the developer incorporated modern technology to cater to new gamers, but they promised that the original gameplay stays the same.
Game controls will obviously change since players are going to use their smartphones and tablets. Items may also be available through in-game purchases; however, this has yet to be confirmed.
The new mobile version is also more colorful compared to what players were used to in the past. It appears that the developer has incorporated 2D and the 3D technologies to make sure new fans would not feel outdated during the game. The new game also has player versus player mode, which non-existent in the original "Contra." No other details were provided regarding the PvP mode of the game, but there are reports suggesting that players may use the same battlegrounds.
As of the moment, "Contra "is slated to come out in the tight Chinese market for both iOS and Android. There is still no report with regard to a western release of the game; however, fans are confident that it will get rolled out pretty soon.
