'Clash of Clans' 2016 update news: Fair Play policy reinforced; September update to have augmented reality?

As previously reported, the Clash of Clans team recently revealed four adjustments included in the small balancing patch. The team, however, deliberately did not mention that they were working on banning modders, cheaters and bots of all kinds.
Sources said the new system could have been added to the previous balancing update. The team turned to Twitter to announce their plan. It read: "As part of our ongoing Fair Play initiative, accounts found to be using prohibited 3rd party software have been permanently banned."
The team reminded gamers of the Fair Play policy, stating that the recent actions taken against cheaters are not a one-time thing but an "ongoing initiative designed to safeguard all games going forward."
Since users were caught off guard, a good number of gamers were banned. Users with multiple accounts reportedly had all of their accounts taken down.
Moreover, reports said that another massive update is slated to launch this September. With the release of the forthcoming changes, the massively multiplayer online game might finally be able to compete with Niantic's "Pokemon Go."
When Niantic launched a location-based augmented reality game, the "Clash of Clans" community experienced a significant decline in numbers. A source reported that after playing "Pokemon Go," gamers expressed their desire for an augmented reality feature that allows less mobile data uptake.
The augmented reality experience has definitely changed the overall mobile gaming experience. Reports suggested that game developer Supercell may be able to add this highly desired feature to "Clash of Clans." So far, the company has not yet confirmed if this will be included in the next update.
Gamers also remain hopeful that the team will finally allow the mining of free gems. This particular feature has been one of the most long-awaited upgrades in "Clash of Clans."
The "Clash of Clans" update is expected to roll out this month. The team, however, has not yet announced a specific date.
