Game developer Supercell is now developing a Clan Challenge feature for the upcoming update of "Clash of Clans."

Since Niantic's augmented reality game "Pokemon Go" began taking the world by storm back in July, Supercell's "Clash of Clans" has taken a back seat in the smartphone gaming industry. After it was dethroned as the top mobile game worldwide, Supercell is hard at work to push its dying fanbase by offering new and interesting features through updates.

Supercell recently unveiled details about its September update through its official forum. Just a week ago, a Supercell staff with the username Anoushka posted on the "Clash of Clans" forum discussing the latest feature called "Clan Challenge." Through this feature, players are allowed to issue a friendly War request to any specific clan. As host of the game, players can choose the other players they want to be included in the Wars, as well as control the time each user needs to prepare for the battle.

The participants then start preparing for the battle by following the duration set by the invitee. As the Supercell staff notes, the Clan Challenge should not be mistaken with the game's Clan Wars feature, adding that they cannot be executed at the same time. The Clan Challenge also helps to improve support for meet-ups and events organized by players.

Given the limited update, Supercell still leaves a lot of questions for its anticipating fans. Aside from new challenges, fans are also looking forward to seeing a gem generator or tower protectors. Over the past months, the developer has already made several changes and tweaks in the game.

Supercell has previously added a weapon and a character in one of the game's most recent updates. Included in the latest features are a character named The Grand Warden and a tower defense weapon known as the Eagle Artillery, which appears to be an improved version of a mortar. Both tweaks can be unlocked once a player upgrades the Town Hall to level 11.
