City In Delaware Removes Noah's Ark Display At Playground Following Atheist Complaint

A city in Delaware has reportedly removed a Noah's Ark display at a children's playground after atheist grandparents complained.
According to The Christian Post, the city of Newark, Delaware removed the Noah's ark display from Norma B. Handloff Park after receiving a lawsuit threat from the Americans United Separation of Church and State group.
Although the Noah's Ark-themed display has been there for quite some time, a city official to The Christian Post that they chose to remove the display after atheist grandparents contacted the national atheist organization, which in turn wrote a letter to the city of Newark threatening a lawsuit.
"Earlier this month, the city of Newark received a complaint regarding the playground equipment, which had been installed for some time, alleging that it was in violation of the establishment clause, citing numerous examples of case law," a spokesman for Newark told The Christian Post on Monday.
"After review, our city solicitor advised that the display be removed, and the Parks and Recreation Department, acting on this advice, removed the display."
The Americans United group also announced the removal of the Noah's Ark display via their Twitter account, writing on October 27: "Victory! Due to [Delaware Valley Americans United] and Americans United action, City of Newark Delaware agreed to remove the Noah's Ark display in Norma B. Handloff Park."
The Americans United group also confirmed that it was notified of the religious display after receiving a complaint from atheist grandparents, who reportedly did not want their child to see religious messages on public property.
