A Christian family in Ohio recently lost their teenage daughter when her heart suddenly stopped while she was walking through a haunted house.

16-year-old Christian Faith Benge was walking with friends and family through the Land of Illusion Haunted Scream Park in Madison Township when she reportedly collapsed to the floor, near the end of the haunted house. Doctors later said that Benge suffered from a rare heart condition known as congenital diaphragmatic hernia that puts extra strain on her heart.

As implied by her name, Christian Faith reportedly had a strong religious upbringing and her family says they believe it was her time to go to heaven. "I did CPR until the paramedics arrived, and then I just trusted God. He has an ultimate plan. It was just time," Christian's mother, Jean Benge, told the local WCPO media outlet. "Because of her faith in Christ, I know she's home."

A service for Christian Faith was held at Eaton Road Full Gospel Church, where the teenager also sang in the church choir.

The girls' grandmother, Betty Page, told the local ABC affiliate that her granddaughter had almost exited the haunted house when she dropped to the floor. "She got halfway through (the house) and just collapsed," Betty Benge said. "She was almost through it."

According to the Land of Illusion website, the haunted house Christian Faith visited included "four haunted houses and one haunted trail with terrors that never string you up the same way twice," its website states, adding that the venue boasts "live spooks, lunatics and chainsaw-wielding madmen."
