Christian Artist Mark Hall of 'Casting Crowns' Asks for Prayer As He Faces Possible Cancer Diagnosis
A well-known Christian singer has asked for prayers as he recently announced a possible battle with cancer.
Mark Hall, lead vocalist of the Christian band Casting Crowns, announced via the band's Facebook page this week that he likely has cancer after doctors found a mass on his right kidney.
"Doctors found a solid mass in my right kidney about a week ago. They are 90% sure it's cancer and they are going to remove the entire kidney next Wednesday, March 11th," Hall wrote on Facebook.
"They believe the cancer is contained in the kidney, which is also a great hope. They will know more once it is out and Pathology can see it."
"I'll be in recovery for a month or a little longer because of the surgery. Please pray for healing and for God's peace for my family," Hall continued, signing the message that he is "Praising Him in This Storm."
Hall's prayer request has started a social media hashtag "prayingformark," shared on Twitter and other social media platforms as a sign of unity for Hall.
"Join me in praying for my friend, @markhallCC in a battle with cancer. Praying w/ faith for healing! #prayingforMark," fellow Christian artist Michael W. Smith tweeted.
"Please join us in #prayingforMark from @castingcrowns! Praying for the Lord to heal him!" added the Christian rock group Kutless.
Hall's wife, Melanie, has also spoken out on her husband's possible diagnosis, sharing Scripture on social media as guidance for herself and Hall's fans.
"You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in You," Hall wrote in reference to the Scriptural passage Isaiah 26:3.
