Chris Christie Calls Out Hillary Clinton for Her Support of Planned Parenthood
Former Secretary of State and 2016 presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has again spoken out regarding the controversial Planned Parenthood videos, saying in a video released Monday that she is "proud to stand" with the abortion provider.
Clinton's camp released a video this week that showed the former First Lady expressing her support for Planned Parenthood following the release of four videos, two of which show executives with the abortion provider discussing the costs associated with the procurement of aborted fetal tissue.
"I'm proud to stand with Planned Parenthood, I'll never stop fighting to protect the ability and right of every woman in this country to make her own health decisions," Clinton said in the video.
Last week, Clinton said that she had found the videos "disturbing," although she voiced her support for Planned Parenthood for providing other health care services to women besides abortion.
Clinton's recently-released video has resulted in outcry from GOP presidential hopefuls, with New Jersey Governor Chris Christie also releasing a video this week in which he asks Clinton: "do you support the conduct of Planned Parenthood in the killing of children in the womb in a way that maximizes their body parts for sale on the open market?"
Criticism over the videos comes after a Senate bill aimed at federally defunding Planned Parenthood failed on Monday.
Iowa Senator Joni Ernst, who sponsored the failed Senate bill, said in a statement that "as a mother and grandmother, I find this footage of Planned Parenthood's role in the harvesting of the organs of unborn babies morally reprehensible and vile."
"The American people are horrified by these videos as well. Simply put, this legislation ensures that funding for women's health is protected and that taxpayer dollars will not go to Planned Parenthood," she added.
