'Chicago Med' season 2 midseason premiere date, spoilers: Star weighs in on Connor-Robyn romance; Is there still chance for Will and Natalie?

After "Chicago Med" wrapped up its fall finale on a romantic note, cast members recently shared teasers on what's next for the characters when season 2 returns next year.
Instead of the usual code red alert or the sound of a patient flat-lining, Thursday's episode ended with a song from Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss). The doctor's musical turn was for Will and girlfriend Nina Shore's (Patti Murin) move-in party. Even though he previously harbored romantic feelings for his colleague Natalie Manning (Torrey Devitto), it appears that Will is ready to move on and start anew with his current girlfriend. However, Gehlfuss revealed that Will is still not closing his doors for a possible relationship with Natalie in the future.
"It's not a light switch. You can't just turn it back off; you don't compartmentalize those types of things," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "And the very nature of the proximity of them working together, certain things flare back up and you deal with them, you figure things out. I don't think that those feelings will ever go away. What will become of them, we shall see."
Although it might take some time before Natalie and Will realize they're meant for each other, another romance will start blossoming when the show returns.Viewers saw a spark between Connor (Colin Donnell) and Robyn (guest star Mekia Cox) last week, but Donnell hinted that the two characters won't be rushing to be in a relationship just yet.
"Our writers have done what I see as a wonderful job of parceling out their relationship," the actor explained to E! News. "They're not diving in to bed together. They're really feeling each other out."
"Chicago Med" will return for the latter half of season 2 in midseason, kicking off with new episodes starting Thursday, Jan. 5 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
