'Chicago Med' season 2 episode 7 spoilers: Goodwin reunites with dear friend; Dr. Halstead organizes his finances

Goodwin (S. Epatha Merkerson) is reunited with an old friend, while Dr. Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss) works to get his finances in order in the upcoming episode of NBC's medical drama spinoff "Chicago Med" season 2.
Titled "Inherent Bias," next week's episode give viewers more insight to Goodwin's personal life. According to the official synopsis for episode 7, Sharon Goodwin's childhood sweetheart arrives in the hospital, but their reunion will not turn out well as he finds himself in dire straits. In an effort to help his financial footing, Dr. Halstead gets lured into an app idea for a concierge doctor. Meanwhile, Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) tends to a young woman with a heart infection. However, his move was against Dr. Charles' (Oliver Platt) advice, which leads to some tension between the two physicians. Additionally, Reese's (Rachel DiPillo) former patient who was a sex trafficking victim reaches out to her for help.
Reese eventually helps sex-trafficking victim Danny in the upcoming episode, but the female doctor may need to be rescued from herself as she gets too invested in her patient's situation.
"It seems like a common mistake for a rookie to make, to not know where to set the boundary line, especially when you're delving into another person's mind to help [them]," DiPillo told TV Line. In the same interview, executive producer Andrew Schneider explained the connection Reese has with her patient and why she is determined to help him get better.
"She's emotionally involved," he said. "It's a young man close to her in age. She sympathizes with him. She sees the desperate situation that he's in, and it brings out her soul. It's really an emotional connection, as well as a medical connection."
Keep tuning in to "Chicago Med" season 2 every Thursday night at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
