"Chicago Fire" is all set to hit the small screen in just a matter of weeks, and the synopsis for the premiere has been recently released by NBC.

Titled "The Hose or the Animal," episode 1 will give fans an idea of what happened to the characters after the unexpected twists in season 4. Guy Burnet, who originally stars from "Chicago Med," is set to appear for a guest role in the upcoming premiere. Although his appearance is not a long one, it will be a significant one since he will be lost in the said episode. According to the official synopsis, Severide (Taylor Kinney) and Stella (Miranda Rae Mayo) will begin looking for him after he quickly left the hospital without even informing anyone.

Elsewhere, Borrelli (Steven R. McQueen) continues to deal with a lot of issues. His previous conflict with Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker) after the death of Boden's brother will escalate and lead to more confrontations between the two characters. While tensions run high between Borreli and Boden, Mouch (Christian Stolte) and Brett (Kara Killmer) will begin a new venture as partners.

Casey (Jesse Spencer) still works as Alderman but after turning her offer down last season, his relationship with Susan Weller (guest star Lauren Stamile) will no longer be the same. After deciding to start anew with Dawson (Monica Raymund), Casey will now help Dawson raise Louie as they finally become a family unit.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Derek Haas hinted that the series will be dialing back on Casey being an alderman as the season moves forward. However, he also mentioned that there will be a Casey-centered episode this season fans should look forward to.

"We'll use it the way that we used his construction jobs in the first few episodes," Haas explained. "It's there and it's present and we can use it as need-be, but it's not going to be a huge part of the show. However, I will say that we're looking to do an episode at some point this year that would really focus on Casey, the way we've done a couple of episodes that were Severide-specific, where he was off duty and got into helping rescue people."

The fifth season of "Chicago Fire" premieres on Tuesday, Oct. 11 at 9 p.m. EST on NBC.
