'Chicago Fire' season 5 spoilers, plot news: Team responds to dangerous call in episode 2; Series co-creators share hints on Jimmy-Boden rift
Firehouse 51 responds to a dangerous call, while Kidd (Miranda Rae Mayo) faces a major decision in the upcoming episode of NBC's hit drama "Chicago Fire" season 5.
Titled "A Real Wake-ip Call," next week's episode will feature a lot of complications for the firefighters. According to the official synopsis, members of truck and squad find themselves in the middle of a dangerous situation while responding to an auto accident.

Casey (Jesse Spencer) and Dawson (Monica Raymund) will find themselves unexpectedly tangled up in the middle of a potential political mess, as Stella is left to make a difficult decision about her former boyfriend.
Elsewhere, Severide (Taylor Kinney) meets and befriends a well-known socialite (guest star Scott Elrod) who might distract him from his work as a firefighter. Brett (Kara Killmer) and Mouch (Christian Stolte), on the other hand, set aside their writing disputes for the greater good.
At the end of last season, viewers saw the death of Jimmy's (Steven R. McQueen) brother and his grief led to some friction with Boden (Eamonn Walker). Moving forward, series co-creator Michael Brandt confirmed that the rising tension between the two characters will be further explored in the beginning of season 5.
"It's going to be a big issue the first two episodes," he told The Hollywood Reporter. "Jimmy's history with his brother, Jimmy's history with Boden—they're not just going to go away. Boden does not take lightly to someone disrupting the house and Jimmy is certainly doing that, so Boden will take action and you'll have to see how it plays out."
The Dick Wolf-produced NBC series is now gearing up for its milestone 100th episode slated to air later this fall. According to co-creator Derek Haas, he is looking forward to writing the special episode—which also happens to be the winter finale—with Brandt. "The one thing I'll say is that Otis discovers that Molly's, prior to being Molly's bar, was incorporated in December 1916 so it is also the 100th anniversary of Molly's so there's going to be a 100-year party in the finale," he teased.
The fifth season of "Chicago Fire" airs every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
