'Chicago Fire' season 5 spoilers, plot news 2016: EP hints something 'big' for Dawson and Casey, couple to finally tie the knot?
"Chicago Fire" returns for its fifth season this coming Fall on NBC, and there might be important events in the some of the characters' lives which fans should look forward to. Gabriella Dawson and Matthew Casey are reportedly tying the knot next season, which may be one of the highlights of the show.
Executive producer Matt Olmstead previously mentioned that if Dawson and Casey were to get married, it will not solely be for Louie's custody process. "We're not averse to that. [However], it's not something that they would do 'shotgun-style' just to facilitate an adoption," he told TV Line. "They wouldn't do it just for appearances sake. If and when they do it, they'll do it because it's time." In terms of their future plans for the couple, the EP wants it to be a huge event for fans."We want a big episode, for sure. There may be something big with Casey and Dawson. We're not going to treat it like just any episode," Olmstead added.
According to spoiler reports, Dawson is one character who continuously go through a lot of obstacles in the story. Even if she and Matthew loved each other very much, a distressing event led them to go separate ways, leaving her pained and alone. Dawson's miscarriage caused a major strain in her relationship with Casey, and their break up only made matters worse for her. While Casey makes a name for himself by being a hero in his field of career, Dawson was compelled to brave through the trials all on her own.
In her effort to find affection and a purpose to live, Dawson decided to adopt a child named Louie. Just when everything seems to go smoothly in Dawson's new life as a single mother, Casey comes back after realizing how much he still wants her in his life. Everyone thought that the two have already moved on with their separate lives, but as it turned out, Casey is determined to win the love of his life back. It remains unknown how their relationship will move forward after all the heartaches they went through, but it will be interesting to see how the dynamic between the two will play out.
