Carrie Fisher health news: 'Star Wars' star in stable condition

Carrie Fisher is stable after her in-flight cardiac incident. Fisher's condition has been unclear since the incident, but her mother, Debbie Reynolds, finally gave an update on Sunday. "Carrie is in stable condition. If there is a change, we will share it. For all her fans & friends. I thank you for your prayers & good wishes," she tweeted.
The "Star Wars" actress was on an 11-hour flight from London to Los Angeles when she suffered a cardiac arrest approximately 15 minutes before the plane landed. Comedian Brad Gage tweeted that he sat in front of Fisher during the flight and he was in complete shock when it happened. YouTube personality Anna Akana was also on board the plane and she thanked the doctor and nurse who helped the actress before the plane landed.
TMZ reported that after the plane landed at the Los Angeles International Airport, paramedics had to administer CPR for 15 more minutes before they were able to get a pulse out of her. The LA Times also reported that Fisher was rushed to the UCLA Medical Center shortly after noontime on Friday, and she has been in the intensive care unit (ICU) since.
Fisher is known for playing Leia Organa in the "Star Wars" films. A number of her "Star Wars" co-stars have wished her a speedy recovery after hearing of her cardiac arrest. "I'm shocked and saddened to hear the news about my dear friend. Our thoughts are with Carrie, her family and friends," Harrison Ford said in a statement (via the LA Times).
Fisher is the daughter of singer Eddie Fisher and actress Debbie Reynolds. The actress was in London filming the latest season of "Catastrophe." Besides the "Star Wars" films, Fisher also appeared in films like "When Harry Met Sally" and "The Blues Brothers," and she also appeared in a number of TV shows.
