Carman to launch his 'President Trump Blues' song on Jan. 19

Christian music artist Carman Licciardello, popularly known as Carman, is set to release a song about President-elect Donald Trump and the November 2016 elections on his birthday next week.

Originally set for Jan. 10, the debut of the new "President Trump Blues" song will now take place live on Facebook on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 9 p.m. EST, in time for the singer-songwriter's birthday celebration.

In a Facebook post last week, Carman shared that he had been penning a song about the incoming president and the "wild ride of an election," and he asked fans to pitch their ideas. He wrote: "You tell me what points you think the song should include. You've watched the news and have lots of observations. So chime in and let's do this together." As of report writing, the post has received more than 1,000 comments and more than 2,400 likes.

During the weekend, Carman updated his fans that he is done writing the song about Trump and thanked those who shared their passionate, albeit mixed, views about what the song should contain. He wrote, "Im taking more of a satirical approach that better fits a fun blues type song. I think 'both sides' will get a kick out of it." He also explained that he had to delay releasing the song by more than a week because the original launch date was too close.

According to a biography posted on Carman.org, the music artist is "an enigma in Christian music, often described as part evangelist, part Vegas Showman."

The music artist has 15 gold and platinum albums and videos under his belt, and he has sold more than 10 million records. He is also known for filling large concert venues. His 1994 "Raising the Standard" concert held in Dallas Texas Stadium that was attended by more than 70,000 people is often cited as the largest Christian concert in history.
