Fans of the original '90s series "Full House" had high hopes for its 2016 spin off, but everything seems to be going down the drain following the show's not-so-family-friendly themes.

Introduced as a family-oriented show, one of America's well-loved TV series is currently under fire for its controversial themes, going a bit far in terms of having "light swearing and continual sexual innuendos," one fan stressed. Actress Candace Cameron Bure who plays one of the show's leads as DJ Tanner is being bombarded with negative feedback due to her portrayal in the series. As a Christian who openly expresses her strong faith, Bure's actions in "Fuller House" are opposite from Christian teachings, according to critics.

In an interview with Fox News, pop culture expert Lisa Durden described how Bure's character appears in the show. "She kisses various random men during her dating escapades, rather than trying to get to know the person in order to forge a committed relationship," she stated. "Not to mention that the entire show is filled with characters drinking, fornicating and all out debauchery."

Viewers also expressed their dismay on Bure's role via social media, mostly comprising negative comments on her Instagram account. "This show was such a disappointment and so inappropriate for my kids who waited for weeks to watch this. So bummed," one fan commented on Bure's Instagram profile. Another fan posted, "Our family was very disappointed. We were looking forward to it, because we watch the reruns with my daughter every night. Needless to say, we won't be watching it as a family #fullerhouseletdown."

The hate from disappointed fans intensified, even hitting her personal relationship with her family. In her defense, Bure posted, "If someone makes a rude or negative comment, ignore it! You're feeding and driving the negativity. This is NOT productive or respectful conversation. And I'm talking to BOTH sides! It's getting old and downright ugly. This does not represent Jesus well. Let's encourage one another as well as take the debates to a private page. Please and thank you," Bure stated.
