Candace Cameron-Bure Defends Starbucks Red Holiday Cups: 'My Relationship With Jesus Defines Christmas'

"The View" co-host Candace Cameron-Bure has spoken out in support of the Starbucks coffee company after it received criticism for its new red holiday cup design.
Cameron-Bure, an evangelical Christian, defended the company in a recent Instagram post, arguing that the annual holiday designs found on the red cups do not define her as a Christian during the Christmas season.
"Starbucks War on Christmas? It's a red cup, folks," 39-year-old Cameron-Bure wrote in the Instagram post.
"Until Starbucks puts a baby Jesus or nativity scene on the cup while saying Merry Christmas, then pulls it because they say it's offensive, let's talk. I don't remember Starbucks ever being a Christian company, do you?" the actress continued.
"A Santa, a snowflake, some holly, a polar bear, some jingle bells or plain red cups don't define Christmas for me as a Christian. My relationship with Jesus does. I will joyfully sip on my Starbucks coffee, in a plain red cup, and instead of complaining about the lack of decorations, I will lovingly share the good news of Jesus Christ with friends and co-workers or anyone who's willing to engage in conversation. Merry Christmas to all!" Cameron-Bure added.
The coffee company has received criticism for allegedly trying to secularize Christmas after it announced that this year it would be providing a solid red cup for the holidays.
In the past, the coffee company has created holiday-themed cups that include seasonal themes, such as polar bears, snowflakes, and holly, among other images.
