Candace Cameron Bure Defends Christian Couple Fined for Refusing Same-Sex Wedding Cake

Outspoken evangelical Christian actress Candace Cameron Bure has recently offered her defense to an Oregon couple fined $135,000 for refusing to bake a cake for a same-sex wedding.
Bure, who starred in the well-known television series "Full House," recently argued with fellow actress Raven Symone as the two discussed the discrimination case taking place in Oregon.
Bure was sitting in as a guest co-host on "The View's" Hot Topics segment on the July 7 airing of the talk show when she and Symone disagreed on the Christian couple's right to deny service to a same-sex couple based on their religious beliefs.
"The Oregon law bars businesses from discriminating against sexual orientation, race, disability, age or religion," Symone argued, "and to me, it's the same exact thing that they did back in the day saying that black people couldn't do certain things because it's my 'religious belief.'"
Bure argued that she thought Symone was comparing "apples to oranges," saying "I don't think this is about discrimination at all."
"This is about freedom of association. It's about constitutional rights. It's about first amendment rights. We do have the right to still choose who we associate with."
"It's in the constitution," Cameron Bure continued, adding "They have a problem with the actual ceremony because that conflicted with their religious beliefs."
Last week, Oregon's Bureau of Labor and Industries ruled that Christian bakery owners Melissa and Aaron Klein be forced to pay $135,000 in emotional damages to Rachel and Laurel Bowman-Cryer for refusing to bake a wedding cake for their same-sex nuptials in 2013.
