'Call of Duty' release date, title news: Next installment set to launch fall 2016?

Activision's first-person-shooter franchise "Call of Duty" is rumored to have another installment called, "Call of Duty: Bloodlines," which is said to arrive later this year.

The "leak" allegedly came from a tipster who goes by the name Geno. According to the leaker, "Call of Duty's" developer, Activision, is planning on bringing the next installment of the series, which will be titled, "Bloodlines," as part of Nintendo NX's launch title in fall this year.

Although there is no official announcement from Activision, the rumor could be true based on how the series has been rolled out every year since it came out in 2003. There are even years, in which the company released two entries of the game. As of the moment, Activision has yet to release another entry of "Call of Duty", which gives fans reason to believe that the rumor is true.

However, a report from a website dedicated to "Call of Duty, " CharlieIntel.com, suggests that the rumor is most likely fake. Apparently, Activision has stopped making "Call of Duty" titles for Nintendo consoles following the release of "Call of Duty: Ghosts" in 2013.

The website also suggested that the "Bloodlines" title seems odd and does not really fit with the past "Call of Duty" titles like "Modern Warfare," "Black Ops," and "Advanced Warfare."

There are also rumors that the next entry would be titled "Ghosts 2," which is a sequel to its 2013 installment; however, the website believes that this is highly unlikely to happen because of how badly "Ghosts" was received by critics and fans when it came out.

Players are still waiting for any legit news regarding "Call of Duty" and its future releases.
