'Bunk'd' season 2 spoilers, cast news: Beloved 'Jessie' character joins; Lead star Peyton List encourages youth to vote

The Ross kids return to Camp Kikiwaka when "Bunk'd" premieres its second season today but first, they will go to their penthouse where they once again see a beloved character from Disney Channel's "Jessie."
Emma (Peyton List), Zuri (Karan Brar) and Ravi (Skai Jackson) will be joined by "Jessie's" beloved butler Bertram, portrayed by Kevin Chamberlin. He will first appear in the season 2 premiere, giving fans a look at life back in the Ross family's penthouse. Based on the recently-released promo stills, Bertram is helping the group as they prepare for their second year in summer camp.
Episode 1 is titled "Griff Is In The House!" and according to the official synopsis, the Ross kids are all set to leave their New York penthouse to spend another summer in the camp. To their surprise, they will meet an unlikely camp addition as well as the Woodchuck cabin's new counselor.
For the uninitiated, "Bunk'd" follows Emma, Ravi, and Zuri as they leave the Big Apple to stay at Camp Kikiwaka in Maine. Founded by Jedediah Swearengen, the camp was where the Ross kids' parents met as teenagers and it was named after a legendary creature living in a forest nearby. With their new friends, the three Ross kids will do their best in adapting to their new lives at Camp Kikiwaka.
Speaking with KTLA, List talked about the upcoming season of "Bunk'd" and why viewers should look forward to meeting the new characters. The 18-year-old also encouraged young people to let their voices be heard in the upcoming U.S. elections. In an effort to motivate the youth to be more aware of politics, List recently shared her opinions on the matter in an essay she penned for Elle magazine. In the piece, List discussed her convictions in life and why it matters to her.
"Bunk'd" season 2 premieres today, Aug. 23 at 8 p.m. EST on Disney Channel.
