The fourth annual Halloween heist goes for blood in the upcoming episode of Fox's hit comedy series "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 4.

Titled "Halloween IV," next week's episode will feature the department as they compete in to win the award in the annual Halloween heist. To give viewers an idea of what's to come, the official synopsis for episode 5 reads:

"It's Halloween in the Nine-Nine, which can only mean one thing: heist time. This year, the squad members pull out all the stops in their quest to win the new defending title of "Ultimate Detective Slash Genius." Lines are drawn and plans are made, but there can only be one reigning champion."

In the latest promo for episode 5, Jake (Andy Samberg) appears to be very excited as he welcomes everyone in the event. Jake thinks he will become the champion, but Holt (Andre Braugher) immediately reminds him that he is already a "has been."

Meanwhile, Amy's (Melissa Fumero) former cop dad is coming by the Big Apple to visit her. According to reports, Fox's "24: Legacy" actor Jimmy Smits will be guest starring in a future season 4 episode as Amy's father. Known as Mr. Santiago, Smits' character is described as a straightforward retired police officer who loves his daughter very much, and his presence will lead Jake to do everything it takes to impress him.

Mr. Santiago will make his first appearance in the Thanksgiving episode of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine," which is slated to air on Tuesday, Nov. 22. Smits is currently set to appear in just a single episode but similar to other guest stars in the series, he stays in the universe and is always welcome to return.

After starring in "NYPD Blue," Smits will next be seen in Fox's upcoming revival series "24: Legacy" set to premiere on Feb. 5.

The fourth season of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" airs every Tuesday night at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.
