Brooklyn Nets trade rumors 2016: Could get unlikely boost from Young and Gay

Since the start of the NBA season, the Sacramento Kings often found themselves in the middle of trade rumors.

This could be due to the management attempt to trade for a star player to keep DeMarcus Cousins happy. But this time, another Eastern Conference team looks to pick up one of their stars. The Brooklyn Nets are rumored to be interested in a trade that would bring Rudy Gay to Brooklyn as the newest addition to their line-up.

Looking at the Nets, they do not have much in terms of roster depth and only Brook Lopez and Jeremy Lin are considered the bright spots for the team. However, adding Gay would definitely give them an outside chance to hit the eighth seed in the East.

Gay is a proven commodity in the league, but he was always seen as an expendable piece for teams he plays with and the Kings treat him no differently. He would be a great addition to the Nets if the trade pushes through, as the Nets will now have a proven scorer who can play on both ends of the floor.

However, as seen by ESPN's Trade Machine, another shooter could be added to the team — Nick Young. The outcast of the Los Angeles Lakers still has a few years left to be effective but needs to find a team that can maximize his role.

For the Nets, he can be a great bench spark and lead the secondary when the starting five need to rest.

Looking at the Trade Machine, their salaries are not too high as well. The Lakers would be part of the three-team trade with the Kings not giving up much for the trade to happen.

These are just speculations but still a very logical move to make if the Nets get the other two teams to agree.
