Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie divorce rumors: Pitt expresses sadness over split; Jon Voight reacts to daughter Jolie's divorce
Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from her husband Brad Pitt, the actress' attorney Robert Offer confirmed on Tuesday—marking the end of one of Hollywood's most influential celebrity power couples.
In the court documents filed by Jolie in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, she cited irreconcilable differences as reason for the separation. The Oscar-winning actress also cited their separation date as Sept. 15, and has sought full physical custody of their six children with visitation rights for Pitt. Jolie, however, did not seek for spousal support, Reuters reports. "This decision was made for the health of the family. She will not be commenting, and asks that the family be given its privacy at this time," Offer said in a press statement.

Pitt also broke his silence on the matter and told People magazine that his main priority right now is the "well-being" of his children."I am very saddened by this, but what matters most now is the well-being of our kids," he said in a statement. "I kindly ask the press to give them the space they deserve during this challenging time."
In the wake of Jolie and Pitt's divorce, Jolie's estranged father/veteran actor Jon Voight expressed concern for his daughter and grandchildren. "It's very sad," he told Inside Edition. "Something very serious must have happened for Angie to make a decision like this."
Before Pitt and Jolie got married in 2014, their relationship became the subject of speculation in 2004 when they co-starred in the feature film "Mr. and Mrs. Smith." During that time, Pitt was still married to actress Jennifer Aniston. Pitt and Aniston announced that they were splitting up in January 2005, with Aniston filing for divorce a few months later.
Pitt and Jolie got engaged in 2012 and married in 2014 in a private, intimate ceremony at Château Miraval in the village of Correns.
