'Boruto: Naruto Next Generation' news 2016: To get a Shippuden version?
A lot of "Naruto" fans were excited upon the release of the first chapter of "Boruto: Naruto the Next Generation" manga series. The official sequel to Masashi Kishimoto's highly popular manga hit has featured a lot of familiar character in its first issue, especially with a particular flash forward sequence. However, the latest rumors suggest that the "Naruto" manga sequel will have the same "Shippuden" version as its predecessor, as the leaked concept art for "Boruto" has revealed the characters to be in their adolescent stage.

The original shonen manga version of "Naruto" wrapped up nicely, but the new age of shinobi world seems to be facing a new adversary soon. The first chapter of "Boruto" has featured the new characters, especially Naruto's eldest son, Boruto, with their distinctive characteristics. The manga series is expected to delve deeper into each character's backstory and motivations, but there seems to be a plan to push the series several years forward and see the characters in their more matured versions. This is very similar to what Kishimoto did with the "Naruto" series as he proceeded with "Naruto Shippuden."
This may not be a far-fetched idea after all, as the first chapter of "Boruto: Naruto the Next Generation" has featured a scene where the lead characters are all grown-up. The particular foreshadowing scene featured Boruto, all grown-up and has become stronger and more skillful compared to his present state in the manga's current timeline. He was seen facing a new powerful villain named Kawaki. The villain is sporting a mohawk hairstyle and a strange attire, although he has the familiar black rod that was also used by the Sage of Six Paths, Naruto, and Uchija Madara in their Sage form.
According to reports the allegedly leaked concept art for the rumored Boruto Shippuden version show every major Boruto manga character in their adolescent stage, including Uchiha Sarada and Orochimaru's son, Mitsuki. However, this should be taken lightly as there has been no official confirmation that the manga series will feature a major flash forward from the present timeline in the near future.
