'Boruto' manga updates, spoilers news: Naruto is dead, Boruto awakening the Byakugan?
The direct continuation of the popular manga series, "Naruto," is set to arrive on May 9 with the release of "Boruto: Naruto the Next Generation." Towards the end of Masashi Kishimoto's original creation, Naruto was seen becoming the newest Hokage of the Leaf Village, Konoha. He is the husband of Hyuga Hinata and the father of Himawari and Boruto. It seems that the conflict in the Leaf Village has already ended, but the preview of the first pages of the upcoming manga series suggest that it is not yet over.

The preview of the new "Boruto" manga series in the forthcoming issue of Weekly Shonen Jump shows a funky-looking villain named Kawaki. His description matches that of a strong villain, and it appears that he has the power to decimate an entire village in just a single blink of an eye. Interestingly, he has the same black rod used by the classic "Naruto" villains like Nagato, Obito and Madara. The same rod was also obtained by Naruto himself when he accessed the powers of the Sage of Six Paths. This may suggest that Kawaki has the superior abilities as those who have used the Sage of Six Paths' power.
Kawaki was first seen in the previous "Boruto" hype poster. The powerful antagonist has destroyed Konoha and he is now threatening to eradicate all the remaining survivors, including Naruto's eldest child, Boruto. Kawaki has a "Mohawk" hairstyle and a wide set of tattoo covering his left arm, going all the way up to his left eye. The initial page preview also reveals the villain's plan to end the ninja era once and for all, and he threatens Boruto into sending him to the same netherworld where his father, the seventh Hokage, is presently located. This would suggest that Kawaki has the power to put down even a powerful master ninja like Naruto.
Boruto, on the other hand, is seen as a slightly grown-up man unlike in the previous "Boruto" movie. He also has a tattoo covering his right arm and the scar on his right eye is also noticeable. While Kawaki might have appeared as a formidable foe, Boruto has Naruto's will power to win against the odds. The final part of the preview shows Boruto awakening the Byakugan.
It can be expected that Boruto will one day activate the Byakugan since his mother is known master of the Hyuga clan's eye technique. "Boruto: Naruto the Next Generation" will show more about the new adventures of Boruto starting next week.
