'Bones' season 11 episode 17 spoilers, plot news: Team probes on a Secret Service agent's murder, Dr. Brennan calls in sick

The Jeffersonian team has a new case to work on in this week's episode of "Bones" season 11, and they will have to ensure the president's safety when he visits their town.

As noted in the official synopsis for this coming Thursday's episode titled "The Secret in the Service," Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel), FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and the rest of the team are tasked to probe on a case about the murder of a Secret Service agent. Just before the president pays a visit to the area, a drunk college student discovers a corpse of a Secret Service agent. Booth is very determined to handle and solve the case so he asks help from his former colleague and Secret Service agent Brandt Walker (guest star Michael Gaston).

To Booth's suprise, the Secret Service seems to have reservations about his involvement in the investigation. The team later on discovers surprising evidence which makes the case even more serious than they initially thought, leading Booth to "step up for his country." Elsewhere, Brennan feels sick as she has a flu, so former intern Dr. Colin Fisher (guest star Joel David Moore) comes back to the Jeffersonian to lead the new case. However, Brennan still wants to be informed of how the case is progressing even if she's away. Hodgins' life is in danger after an experiment goes wrong.

As noted in Entertainment Weekly's The Spoiler Room, "While both Booth and Brennan are initially sidelined on an upcoming case, Hodgins goes all in to find the killer, making a wildly dangerous move that actually helps him gain some acceptance about his paralysis."

Other guest stars for the episode include Jeff Rosick as Darrell Taggert, Nishi Munshi as Marissa Patel, Michael Galante as Travis Bozwell, Sahil Shroff as Reiki Healer, Dave Power as Neil Stockton and April Adams as Sally Cavanaugh.
