Boko Haram Kidnaps 100 Men, Boys In Northeastern Nigeria, Witnesses Say

Witnesses in northeast Nigeria are claiming that the Boko Haram terrorist group has allegedly kidnapped nearly 100 boys and men. This latest crime comes four months after the group kidnapped over 200 schoolgirls, also from the northeastern region of the country.
Armed men clothed in military fatigues reportedly entered the town of Doron Baga on Sunday, yelling "Allah Akbar," or God is greatest, and shooting their assault rifles. Sunday's raid left 97 people unaccounted for, and eyewitnesses said the terrorists loaded men and boys into their vehicles and drove away.
"They left no men or boys in the place; only young children, girls and women," Halima Adamu, one of the witnesses of Sunday's event, told Reuters.
"They were shouting 'Allah Akbar' (God is greatest), shooting sporadically. There was confusion everywhere. They started parking our men and boys into their vehicles, threatening to shoot whoever disobey them. Everybody was scared."
Along with the kidnapping, witnesses say six older men were killed during the Doron Baga raid, while another five people were injured.
This most recent kidnapping comes after another similar event in April, when over 200 schoolgirls, many of them Christian, were kidnapped from their school in the northeastern village of Chibok. Although the Nigerian government has received international pressure and help, the girls have yet to be discovered, although over 50 were able to escape their captors in May.
Nigerian president Goodluck Jonathan has vowed to find the girls, but government intelligence has not been successful in the search.
The Boko Haram group is an al-Qaeda-trained militant Islamist group that seeks to establish a completely Islamic state in Nigeria.
