'Boardwalk Empire' Season 5 Spoilers, Rumors: Finale to Bring About Explosive Ending
"Boardwalk Empire" is coming to an end after its current fifth season. There remains one more episode to be aired and the finale promises to be a showstopper.
As for the episodes until now, the sixth titled "Devil You Know" saw the death of two major characters -- Nelson Van Alden and Chalky White. In this episode, Van Alden revealed his true identity to Capone while trying to kill him, but ended up being shot by Mike D'Angelo . D'Angelo then gets possession of the accounting ledgers which will eventually lead to Capone serving time in prison.
As for White, he managed to secure the release of Daughter Maitland and her child Althea, but he was aware that Narcisse will eventually get rid of him. Finally we saw White's suspicions coming to pass when Narcisse and his men shoot him in an alley.
The episode before the season finale titled "Friendless Child" saw Nucky Thompson's kidnapping of Benny Siegel going wrong, and Charlie Luciano and Meyer Lansky kidnapping Willie Thompson in return.
Nucky then nears the end of the line as he is blackmailed and forced to surrender all he has to Luciano and Lansky in order to stop them from killing Willie.
Then there was more blood spilled in the episode with Nucky plotting the death of Maranzano.
With this development, viewers of "Boardwalk Empire" should expect that Luciano and Lanksy will ultimately emerge victorious just like their real-life versions.
As for the finale, a synopsis released by HBO reveals that "Nucky will plan on moving to Manhattan after his failure in Atlantic City. Luciano goes ahead and sets up a mob commission. Meanwhile Willie who was kidnapped and released in the previous episode will share details about the underworld with the U.S. Attorney. Finally Nucky visits Gillian who is in hospital."
