'Blue Blood' season 7 spoilers: Premiere date likely to happen in the fall, new speculations on the storyline revealed

The sixth season of CBS' police procedural series "Blue Bloods" ended with mostly positive reviews for the final episode, and fans can't wait to see more of the Reagan family in season 7.
To provide a short recap, last week's season 6 finale was emotionally-charged despite not featuring a usual cliffhanger or action-packed episode most shows do. The grand jury decided not to indict an officer for the controversial shooting of a teenager, drawing public outrage in the area. An officer was also shot which they see as a retaliation, leading Danny and Baez to track down the suspect.
The network or execs have yet to give more details on the season 7 storyline, but there are some speculations about how the plot will take shape. Since the episodes mostly focused on Frank politics, fans will expect more of it next season. The character facing ethical and moral problems is what made the show even more interesting in the first place, so continuing it will be a wise move for the show.
Viewers also expect to see more of Lina this season, specially after her character fell off the radar when season 6 came to a close. Furthermore, fans are itching to see Jamie and Eddie together, since it could open a number of plot possibilities. It is unclear if the show will push through any longer, so putting them together as early as next season makes perfect sense.
To boot, a new character in the NYPD is expected to be added to the mix.
Early March, "Blue Bloods" has been confirmed to have a seventh season which is not surprising at all. The critically-acclaimed drama clocks in an average of 10 million viewers per episode which makes it one of the top performers in the network. Even though CBS has not yet announced a premiere date, it will likely return to the small screen sometime around September 2016.
