'Bloodline' season 3 spoilers, plot news: Setting to remain in Florida Keys, plot to focus on Rayburns after John's departure

Following Netflix's decision to renew "Bloodline," Netflix content chief Ted Sarandos recently confirmed that the series will continue filming in Florida Keys for the upcoming season 3.
The Florida Keys served as the location for the two previous seasons but the lack of tax credits in the Sunshine State led to talks about relocating the show to a less expensive area. However, Sarandos mentioned during the Television Critics Association press tour that they will no longer be moving the production to another location.
When asked if they would still film in the Keys, he replied: "Yeah, for sure. It's an iconic location. The one thing that's cool about Netflix shows is that those locations are characters. In the Hell's Kitchen shows like Daredevil, Hell's Kitchen is a character — we can't fake it in Canada. So tax credits are a nice offset but if it doesn't fit the creative, we're not going to chase it."
After the eldest Rayburn son Danny (Ben Mendelsohn) was slain by his cop brother John (Kyle Chandler), season 2 was able to delve deeper into each of the characters' stories along with the introduction of new faces. In terms of the storyline, season 3 will pick up on the events after the season 2 finale. John is now on the run and he must leave his family behind while he deals with all the mess he got into.
Creator Glenn Kessler recently caught up with Deadline and he spoke about plans on extending the series for more years. "We always planned on multiple seasons," he said. "It's about the family and the relationships of those family members. Danny was always going to die, like in Crime and Punishment and other stories where it happens early. Bloodline is about watching these relationships evolve."
"Bloodline" season 3 is expected to premiere next year on Netflix.
