'Blindspot' season 2 spoilers: Weller and team track down Irish mob leader; Allie gets seriously injured in episode 5

The Irish mob attempts to assassinate a prominent politician in the upcoming episode of NBC's mystery action-drama "Blindspot" season 2.
Titled "Condone Untidiest Thefts," next week's episode will center on an assassination plot and a mob story. According to the official synopsis, a prominent politician will be a victim of an assassination plot by the Irish mob. After the politician is almost killed during a rally, Weller (Sullivan Stapleton) and the team will work with U.S. Marshal Allie Knight (guest star Trieste Kelly Dunn) to take down the mob leader once and for all.
NBC has recently released a promo clip for the action-packed episode, and it seems that one of the characters will be seriously injured. While out on duty, Allie appeared to be shot—jeopardizing her future with Weller.
In the previous episode, viewers were surprised by yet another plot twist. The tough FBI agent Kurt Weller got some big news from his ex-girlfriend Allie, as she revealed that he's going to be a dad. Speaking with InStyle, Stapleton shared his thoughts on the new story arc for Weller. "That was actually one of the nicest surprises that I've ever read in a script," he said. "I like the fact that our writers explore the personal lives of these characters. And I think it will be nice to see a softer side of Kurt."
Despite his new role as a loving dad, Stapleton assures fans that Weller won't be a pushover in the field. "He is a dedicated agent and takes his job really seriously, so if anything, having a child might make him work harder to right all of the wrongs in the world," he added.
The second season of "Blindspot" airs every Wednesday night at 8 p.m. EST on NBC.
