"Blindspot" will go through a lot of changes when season 2 premieres in Fall. Aside from the new timeslot, a familiar face has been recently cast in a mysterious role.

"The Good Wife" star Archie Panjabi is the latest addition to the NBC drama, joining newcomers Michelle Hurd and Luke Mitchell. The name of Panjabi's character is yet to be announced, but she will portray an NSA agency head who has been discreetly investigating Jane Doe. During the Television Critics Association press tour last week, Panjabi only mentioned that her character has a tough and unpredictable personality â€” keeping the rest of her backstory under wraps.

Another huge shift for the series is its timeslot, moving from 10 PM to 8 PM. The new air time will affect the tone of the story according to series creator Martin Gero, but not to the point that viewers will not recognize it anymore. He further stressed that lighter elements of the plot will be emphasized, cutting back on the graphic and violent scenes. "We're not going to shoot anyone in the head anymore," Gero said during the Television Critics Association summer press tour. "Obviously, we are toning back some of the violence on the show but not to a point where people won't recognize it."

Aside from finally revealing Jane's real name, the season 2 premiere will tie a lot of loose ends from the past season. "Not only will we find out her name but also what Orion is and who Shepherd is, what the plan is and who the real Jane is," Gero added.

Season 2 picks up with a three-month time jump following Jane's arrest in season 1 when Kurt discovered that she was just pretending to be his childhood friend Taylor Shaw.
