'Blindspot' season 2 spoilers, cast news: 'Daredevil' and 'SHIELD' stars tapped as series regulars, Jane's identity to be revealed

Jane Doe's quest to know more about her real identity continues when "Blindspot" returns this Fall, and the second season will introduce two familiar faces as series regulars.
"Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." actor Luke Mitchell and "Daredevil" star Michelle Hurd have been confirmed as the show's newest cast members, according to TV Line. Mitchell will play the role of Roman, while Hurd's character is yet to be named. Both characters are "members of the shadowy organization that sent Jane to the FBI" after she lost her memory and discovered the strange markings on her body.
Showrunner Martin Gero and the cast dropped by the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend where they shared a few details on the upcoming season. A trailer with the highlights of season 2 has been released during the event, and it shows Jane being tortured and interrogated by the yet-to-be-named NSA operative portrayed by Archie Panjabi. More action-packed scenes were also featured, along with Jane battling it out with Weller.
According to Gero, the next chapter will finally resolve a majority of the loose ends in the story, particularly Jane's true identity. "The first episode back, you find out what Jane's real name is, what her background is...it's a very satisfying episode for our fans," he said in the Q & A panel. Additionally, he assured fans that the conspiracy leader Shepherd will be introduced at some point in the series.
Another mystery that has to be unraveled later on is what really happened to Mayfair before she died. As fans can remember, the former FBI head was shot in the back by Oscar while she was confronting Jane in season 1. "We don't 100 percent know what happened with Mayfair. We'll discover that as time goes on," Patterson's portrayer Ashley Johnson hinted.
Tune in to "Blindspot" season 2 which is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. on NBC.
