'Blindspot' season 2 release date, spoilers news: EP Martin Gero gives clue on Jane's real name, story to pick up after 3-month time jump
"Blindspot" season 2 is scheduled to premiere this coming Fall, and viewers will finally find out the answer to the show's biggest mystery: Jane Doe's real name.

Season 1 focused on Jane's journey to figure out her true identity and the meaning behind the strange markings on her body. During the 2016 San Diego Comic-Con, executive producer Martin Gero confirmed to TV Line that the season 2 premiere will pick up after a three-month time jump.
"They will pick up three months later, and Jane Doe has been in a CIA black site," he explained. "You know, that's a rough three months for anyone who's spent a few months in a CIA black site. And the rest of the cast is just trying to come to terms with the end of the year when they found out that Jane was sort of a double agent and wasn't Taylor Shaw."
Aside from revealing details behind Mayfair's death, the upcoming season will also touch on new problems. Gero mentioned at some point in the interview that Jane's name begins with "A." More of her character's identity will be fleshed out in episodes 1 and 2 before they head to a new storyline focusing on another theme. "For us, season 1 is about who is Jane Doe. And now season 1 is over. And this year is about something else. It's heavily-themed about trust and family..." he continued.
Carter Matt reports that Kurt Weller will receive important news which will greatly affect his life and his relationship with Jane. Details on what comes next for Jane is still under wraps, but a mysterious organization has been recently confirmed to enter the picture and shake up the story. They will have some sort of connection to Jane because of the role they had in her past, and fans should look forward to how their presence will influence her.
Tune in to the season 2 premiere of "Blindspot" which airs on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
