'Bleach' chapter 686 spoilers, plot news: final chapter released; live-action film adaptation announced

"Bleach" Chapter 686, the final installment in the long-running Japanese manga series, has dropped.
In the manga's penultimate chapter, Rukia became one of the Gotei 13's new captains. Meanwhile, it looked as though a fragment of Ywach's power had emerged in Soul Society, and some of the captains went to investigate.
In Chapter 686, several captains, including Byakuya, arrive at the scene of the disturbance. Captain Mayuri, who is already there, instructs the others to wait and see what happens. Ywach's power then begins to take shape.
Meanwhile, on Earth, Rukia and Renji meet Ichigo, Tatsuki, Mizuiro, and Keigo at the Kurosaki clinic. They gather to watch Chad, now a famous boxer, fight on TV. Ishida, who has become a doctor, also watches Chad's fight from his phone.
It is revealed that Rukia and Renji's daughter has become a Gotei apprentice.
In Soul Society, the mass looks ready to take on the captains. In an alley, a little boy puts his hand inside a black blob. When he does so, the mass of Ywach's power in Soul Society explodes, dissolving into nothing.
Later, in the boy's room, a little girl dressed as a shinigami emerges out of a warp hole. She introduces herself as Ichika. The boy says that his name is Kazui and that he is a shinigami as well.
While "Bleach" has come to an end, fans of the popular manga still have something to look forward to.
In the latest issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine (2016, Issue 38), it was announced that a live-action film adaptation of "Bleach" is being developed and that it will hit theaters in Japan in 2018, as reported by Anime News Network.
The live-action version of the popular manga series has been rumored for years now, but this is the first official confirmation of the highly anticipated adaptation.
Actor Sota Fukushi will star in the film as Ichigo. Shinsuke Sato, who helmed the films "I Am A Hero" (2015), "Library Wars" (2013), and "Gantz" (2011), is attached to direct the "Bleach" live-action project.
