'Black Mirror' season 4 news, casting updates: Jodie Foster confirmed to direct episode; Series creator hints season 4 plans

"Black Mirror" season 4 has already been confirmed, and new details on the upcoming installment have been recently revealed.
According to reports, Jodie Foster is confirmed to direct one episode of the hit sci-fi anthology drama's next season. The plot for the said episode has yet to be announced, but it will star Rosemarie Dewitt as the lead.
Aside from being an Oscar-winning actress, Foster is also known for her work as a director on films "Money Monster," "The Beaver," "Home for the Holidays" and "Little Man Tate." The upcoming season of "Black Mirror" won't be Foster's first time to direct Netflix shows, since she has previously helmed episodes of the streaming network's top programs "Orange is the New Black" and "House of Cards."
DeWitt will next be seen starring in the feature film "La La Land" alongside Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Her other film acting credits include "Rachel Getting Married (2008)", "Your Sister's Sister (2011)" and the 2015 remake of "Poltergeist (1982)."
On another note, series creator Charlie Brooker caught up with Deadline recently, and he teased some plans he has for season 4. While he is cautious not to give too much away, Brooker mentioned that he is already working on the new batch of episodes. "I've got three stories down so we've got three scripts done and that's halfway in terms of the writing almost. I can't say too much," he stated.
"I can sort of hint that there's some things we didn't get to do during the first season because we felt they were in similar territory but some fresh ideas," the creator continued. "One idea we've been wanting to do for ages that we're doing, and we've got a mix of what I would say are epic stories alongside kitchen sink level domesticity. So we've got hopefully a wide mix. I can't really say more than that."
The fourth season of "Black Mirror" begins production later this year and will premiere on 2017.
