'Black Mirror' season 3 spoilers, plot news: New photos revealed; first episode to be '80s-themed
Two months ahead of its season 3 premiere, new photos for "Black Mirror" has been released.
One of the recently-revealed on-set images hints a 1980s-themed episode, with stars Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Mackenzie Davis sporting looks reminiscent of the Reagan Era. Starring Davis ("The Martian") and Mbatha-Raw ("Belle"), the first episode is titled "San Junipero" and it will be directed by Owen Harris ("Kill Your Friends").
In one of the photos, Mbatha-Raw seems to be channeling classic Madonna with her flashy violet top and long necklaces. Davis, on the other hand, appears to have a similar fashion sense with Barb from "Stranger Things" because of her big glasses and long-sleeved shirt.

Episode two is titled "Nosedive" and it will be directed by Joe Wright ("Atonement"). "Parks and Recreation's" co-creator Michael Schur and actor Rashida Jones wrote the episode and it will star Bryce Dallas Howard ("Jurassic World") and Alice Eve ("Before We Go").
The photo featuring Howard doesn't give too much away, except for the fact that the story is set in the modern day since she is holding a smartphone. The next photo shows Howard and a group of people stopped in their tracks while looking at their mobile phones. Before the official October premiere, episodes one and two will both be screened at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
Executive producers Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones previously announced that they will collaborate with Rashida Jones, Dan Trachtenberg and Mike Schur to write episodes for the coming season. It was also confirmed that the musical scoring for season 2 will be done by Portishead's Geoff Barrow, Max Richter, Clint Mansell and Bear McCreary.
Based on the British series of the same name, "Black Mirror" is a sci-fi anthology series which features suspenseful and satirical stories related to technology. The show last aired in Dec. 2014 with a Christmas special featuring "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm as the lead character.
"Black Mirror" season 3 premieres Sunday, Oct. 21 on Netflix.
