'Better Call Saul' season 3 spoilers: Bob Odenkirk speaks on show's 'mind-blowing' success, Jimmy and Mike to be in darker place

Heading towards its third season, "Better Call Saul" might see Jimmy and Mike start making a name for themselves.

Lead star Bob Odenkirk believes that giving Mike and Jimmy more scenes together would be an interesting idea to add to season 3. "... More me and Mike together, squaring off," he told Variety. "It's just always fun. It makes me laugh. It's a great burst of energy to be working with [Jonathan] Banks like that. I have crazy ideas. I'd love to see some of Saul during the years of 'Breaking Bad,' but off-screen, out of his office, not in his Saul mode. I'm curious what that person is."

Odenkirk's idea for the two characters is not far from happening but according to spoiler reports, the third season will see Jimmy and Mike in a darker place. Jimmy will eventually begin his transformation to become the notorious "criminal" lawyer Saul Goodman, dragging Mike along in his new business. The plot might finally reveal how they managed to build a name for themselves — sacrificing their morality and breaking the law in the process.

Besides acting, Odenkirk spent most of his years in the entertainment industry behind the camera as a director or writer. "Better Caul Saul" and "Breaking Bad" are two of the rare projects where he acts, and he considers the shows' continuing success "mind-blowing."

"After 25 years of waking up every morning and trying to sit my ass in a chair and write comedy, to really try to take on the fact that I have other endeavors to devote myself to that are really, really worthy — it takes some time to make that shift," he told Yahoo! TV. "I'm re-configuring myself all the time trying to adjust to this scenario."

"Better Call Saul" season 3 is expected to premiere sometime next year.
