2016 presidential hopeful Ben Carson has spoken out regarding the alleged "war on women," suggesting that there is no actual war on women, but rather a war on "what's inside of women."

Carson made his comments at a recent campaign event in Little Rock, Arkansas that was posted in YouTube, in which the former neurosurgeon said: "There are those who are always trying to stir up trouble. They are always trying to drive wedges between us and you know they tell you that there is a war on women. There is no war on women, there may be a war on what's inside of women but there is no war on women in this country."

Carson expounded on that theme but suggesting that Americans should not allow the "enemy" to place wedges between people of different faiths, genders, income, or race.

"Every incident that involves people of different races, they try to make it into a big racial incident. Let me tell you a secret, you take any community, there's gonna be conflicts between the people in that community and if some of them happen to be of different races, there's still gonna be conflicts between people, that is the nature of people," said Carson.

Carson previously told Fox News in 2013 that "there is no war on [women], the war is on their babies."

"Babies that cannot defend themselves," he said. "Over the past few decades, we have destroyed 55 million of them. And we have the nerve to call other societies of the past heathen. What we need to do is re-educate the women to understand that they are the defenders of these babies."
