2016 presidential hopeful Ben Carson recently cited his favorite Bible verse in response to criticism from fellow 2016 hopeful Donald Trump, as well as responded to criticism that he would not be a good president for creating jobs.

Carson, a retired neurosurgeon, made his comments in a recent interview with Megyn Kelly on "The Kelly File." During the interview, Kelly referenced recent comments made by fellow 2016 presidential hopeful Donald Trump, who suggested he would be a better jobs president than Carson due to his career as a real estate mogul, compared to a doctor.

"Perhaps a lot of people don't know this, but I've actually done in things in my life other than medicine. I have decades of experience on corporate boards," Carson told Kelly.

"Of all the things I have been involved in, the one that I cherish most, is being involved in saving the lives of young children," Carson continued.

"Changing a dark situation into a situation of light for those families, I think that far exceeds anything I've ever done in the world of business," he added.

Carson has also shot back at Trump after the real estate mogul was unable to name his favorite Bible verse in a recent interview.

The retired neurosurgeon told reporters at a recent rally in Orange County, California that his deep Christian faith sets him apart from Trump.

"Probably the biggest thing -- I've realized where my success has come from and I don't in anyway deny my faith in God," Carson said, going on to quote one of his favorite Bible verses.

"By humility and the fear of the Lord are riches and honor and life and that's a very big part of who I am. I don't get that impression with him," Carson added in reference to Trump. "Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't get that."
