'Battlefield 5' release date update: EA DICE to unveil game on May 6?
It looks like EA DICE is now ready to show the fans the future of their highly popular first person shooter video game series, "Battlefield." It has long been rumored that another entry to the successful franchise will mark its arrival sometime this year or early 2017. However, there were no details or confirmation coming from EA regarding a planned "Battlefield" sequel. This time, it appears that the game studio will make the big reveal this week.

So far, the fans of the "Battlefield" series have marked May 6 on their calendars as they expect EA DICE to officially announce the development of "Battlefield 5." The German gaming resource website Play3.de was noted by Bitbag to feature an event coming up on May 6 which will tell something about the future of the "Battlefield" franchise.
"The future of Battlefield is coming up and you are invited to the world premiere. On May 6, we will reveal the next milestone in the Battlefield franchise. Come and meet our creative team at DICE," a snippet from the website's published press release stated.
Also, an event page prepared by EA's "Battlefield" website itself shows a timer counting down to May 6, 4 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST). The timer pertains to the important event coming up on May 6, where the "Battlefield World Premiere" is expected to happen. The webpage also mentions that the media will be the first to witness the big reveal at around 8 p.m. CET, and a live stream is expected to follow shortly afterwards at around 10 p.m. CET.
Electronic Arts has a lot of game projects lined up for 2016 and the following year, with games such as "Mass Effect Andromeda" and "Titanfall 2" reported to be released sometime in the future. "Titanfall 2" is one of the games that will be featured during the EA Play event this year, but there are no words about the unveiling of "Battlefield 5" during the same event. While there are no confirmed details about the anticipated "Battlefield" sequel, it has been rumored for some time that the latest game will have World I setting, which is far from the previous video games' present time and futuristic theme of war.
