'Battlefield 5' release date on Xbox One, PS4 & PC news: Plot rumors suggest World War 1 setting; could land October 2016
"Battlefield 5" has been one of the most highly anticipated video games this year and various rumors about the World War 1 setting has been all over the internet for months.

Although there is no official word from its publisher, EA, and its developer, DICE, "Battlefield 5" is rumored to be heading into that direction. According to a German listing for "Battlefield 5," the next installment of this popular war video game will be a multiplayer tactical shooter set in World War 1. The leak first came out on NeoGAF and was posted by a known writer/researcher, Liam Robertson on his Twitter account.
The post has also revealed the release date of the much awaited video game. Robertson gathered that "Battlefield 5" will hit the shelves on October 26, 2016 on Xbox One, PS4 & PC.
Fans find the rumor interesting as it would take players into an unfamiliar environment, which pretty much sums up a World War 1 set. It is safe to say that the First World War did not have the best equipment, artillery, and weaponry and because of that the upcoming game will also allow a change in the game pace.
Although DICE and EA have not given any official comment with regard to the rumored setting of the next "Battlefront" episode, the idea is not impossible. The speculation about the October release might be true as most of the games in the franchise were released during that time of the year except for "Battlefield: Hardline," which had an initial release of March 17, 2015.
Meanwhile, the company may make an announcement in the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo on June 14 to 16. It is speculated that the company will finally provide official details regarding the next Battlefront installment.
Nevertheless, all of these rumors should be taken with a grain of salt until EA or DICE confirms them.
